Each clock and barometer was handcrafted and individually numbered. Engraved on the brass base is a likeness of Columbus' sailing ship. The ships bell 4L movement is the highest expression of the clockmakers art, a hidden object of beauty that performs the complex functions of precision time-keeping and faithful striking of the hours and half-hours. The striking mechanism is gold-plated and lifts a leather-tipped hammer, which strikes a coiled steel gong attached to the forged base. Height is 9", width 15", and weighs an impressive 22 lbs. All outside brass parts are factory lacquered. In absolutely mint condition, and in the original packing box. A highly collectible set, and especially nice as a gift for someone special. |

CIRCA 1860 BAROMETERVery old barometer manufactured by Baird & Tatlock, Glascow. Circa 1860. Has a thermometer and a barometer. The barometer lacks mercury, and we can NOT fill it because it is illegal to ship mercury. If you want it filled with mercury, it must be done at a place where you can hand-carry the instrument to and from the shop. Quite a collector's item. Very Rare!
