The internal workings were
replaced with a newer one, helping to make a
louder bell sound when the command lever is moved.
The telegraph is supported by a 13 1/2" dia heavy
round brass base with 6 fixing holes, hefty brass
column rising up to the 7' x 8" electrical box, with
its cover marked: "INSTRUMENTFABRIKS-A.B.LYTH-STOCKHOLM-SWEDEN"

USN ENGINE REVOLUTION TELEGRAPH
U. S. Navy Engine Revolution Telegraph. Rare heavy brass & aluminum body, 51" tall x 15 1/2" x 16 1/2" -- a real "Big Boy." 54 1/2" to top of handles. Heavy brass upper control body. The central brass inspection and control plate reads: "engine telegraph revolutions." In the middle are 3 vertical windows with revolution control numbers that can be changed with the knobs. Below are 2 brass bells that would ring when changes were made and understood via deck and engine room. If only it could talk, it looks like it has seen a lot of action. A fantastic find. Weight approx. 300 pounds.

One of the rarer U. S Navy Telegraphs and a survivor of WW II. Polished and lacquered, and mounted on a wood base. An ingenious design. The oval face plate reads: Off - Hand Pulls - Full - Slow - Stop - 1/3 - 2/3 - Standard Ahead - Full-Flank - Hand Pulls, etc. Turning the heavy brass control knob arrow indicator to any of the above commands gets the desired results Total height is 45". VINTAGE "DONKIN & CO. NEWCASTLE on TYNE" TELEGRAPH
Rare Single Lever circa 1930 British Telegraph. When lever command is moved to the desired engine speed at the bridge, the bell rings out loud and clear. The brass and other non brass metals have been polished and lacquered. Height: 42 1/2". The top brass command center is 11 3/4" wide. The metal base and pedestal have also been polished and lacquered. The 10" black face with white easy to read lettering has some cracks in it, which do not detract from its overall appearance. Rare double faced, single lever U S Navy heavy brass electric "Bendix" telegraph with great age patina. The unit has 2 identical 12" faces (in excellent condition) which are marked: flank, full, stand, 2/3, 1/3, stop, 1/3, 2/3, full, Bendix, Brooklyn, NY- cb 14396-a. A bell mounted to the side will ring when commands are given by moving the lever. Height: 43 3/4", to top of lever 49 3/4". Width between the faces is 12". Round base: 12" wide with 6 fixing holes. This hefty desirable British bridge telegraph is very hard to find. It has been in my collection for over 20 years. Made of brass, it sports a 16" triangular looking face. When the
enunciator lever is moved to give the desired command to the engineer in the engine room, the internal bell rings loud and clear. Another bell is mounted externally with an electrical connection cord attached. Siemens was one of the premier British telegraph makers, especially for the British Royal Navy during WW II. This heavy brass ship's Engine Room Telegraph weighs an incredible 92 pounds. When the lever is moved, the internal bell rings with an excellent clear bell sound. "CHADBURN" SINGLE FACE COMMAND LEVER TELEGRAPH
Rare "Chadburn" single face command handle telegraph. Very rare 43" brass telegraph, 46" to top of handle, face width 11 3/4". Housed on a slender brass base, polished and lacquered to perfection. When the handle is moved on the bridge to call for the desired speed for action from the engineers in the engine room below, the internal bell rings loud and clear. A light inside illuminates the white face. The maker's name is clearly shown bottom center: CHADBURN. The famous Chadburn Co. of Liverpool circa 1870's at one time accounted for well over 80% of the world's telegraph production. By the early 1900's, well over 5,500 commercial and 825 Royal Navy vessels were using Chadburn Telegraphs. By 1935 nearly all the famous ocean liners like the Normandy used their telegraphs. telegraph for twin screw vessel, sporting 2 command
levers. Each with an arrow when moved would show the
desired engine speed pointing at one of the 7 oval
2" x 1 1/2" circle commands: FULL, HALF, ASTERN
SLOW, STOP, AHEAD SLOW, HALF, FULL .
Height from the 5 1/4" round
brass mounting base to top of lever 14 3/4", width
of the upper body is 7 1/4". Mounted with 4
screws to a good looking 1/2" round wood base .
Total height 16". Polished and lacquered makes
