 Schrader 3 cylinder pump

MERRITT, CHAPMAN & SCOTT AIR PUMP
mfg by SCHRADER

A fantastic piece of early diving equipment. A three- cylinder single-acting hand-operated air pump, largely used for salvage operations, and harbor and dock work. This one comes with two (2) huge flywheels, which for various reasons are often removed from such pumps. Manufactured by Schrader, as shown on the cover plate. A wonderful piece of history. In 1893, Merritt, Chapman, and Scott were three separate small salvage companies. Today the company is a gigantic combination of the small companies.

#5660 Authentic Vintage US Navy Maritime WWII Liberty Ship Wooden Hatch Cover (Unfinished)
AUTHENTIC VINTAGE US NAVY MARITIME WWII LIBERTY SHIP WOODEN HATCH COVER (UNFINISHED)

Many of these have been refinished into tables.  Liberty Ship hatch covers were made especially for the WWII Liberty Ships. These wooden hatches covered the cargo holds of the war materiel being sent to the Far East and as fighting cargo ships they were instrumental in supplying our troops and were found in all the naval invasions and battles of the war.  The Hatch Cover is made of 3 roughly cut pine boards with 2 thick metal galvanized bands wrapped around each end of
the hatch and riveted in place, there also is a securing metal rod going thru all 3 pine boards to stabilize the hatch and keep it from warping.  The boards are separated from each other by a 1/4" wide gap to allow for expansion swelling.  There is a handle scoop out on opposite corners with a metal handle secured across the top of the scoop with rivets.  These grips allowed the deck hands to either move the boards manually, or by means of crane hooks to do the lifting.

Size is : 53 1/2" x 29 1/2" x 2 1/2'

It weighs approx. 95 pounds, local pick up available, special arrangements for shipping in US.
Please see Hatch Cover Base #0033, which is made to hold the above Liberty Ship Hatch Cover.

It is totally awesome!-check it out
