HAND BUILT DIVER MODEL
In our 32 years in the nautical antiques business, this is the highest-quality model of a full-suited deep sea diver we've ever seen. The attention to detail is absolutely fantastic, as you can see from the photos. Signed by the maker, J. Niemcyk, and under his name are the letters MDMM16. The tag on the bottom reads, "U. S. N. T. S. Ship Salvage." The diver's miniature breastplate reads, "U. S. N. T. S., Ship Salvage, Pier 88, N.Y., J. N. AJ-1944." All weights on the belt are stamped USN. The box measures 17.5" h x 13" w x 13" deep, while the seated diver is 15" tall.
A magnificent model for those who collect only the finest.

SIEBE GORMAN DIVER'S FLASHLIGHT "Continuous On"
Designed with the diver's safety in mind, this flashlight
has no on/off switch that could
be triggered by accident while the diver is underwater. When
the diver is ready to dive, the batteries are inserted and the
light stays on until they are removed. Made of brass by the "Siebe-
Gorman Diving Co." Four brass prongs protect the lens from
breakage. Weighs about 4 lbs. and is 11" long. Takes 3 D-cell
batteries (not included). In working order. Very collectible

MASTER & OFFICER DIVER'S PLAQUE
A polished and lacquered brass plaque of the insignia of a Navy Master Diver and Diving Officer. The Master Diver designation is quite a feat to earn. After several years of experience and upon being invited to participate, a Chief Petty officer, Senior Chieff Petty Officer, or Master Chief Petty officer (E7, E8, E9) can undergo evaluation to become a Master Diver. Upon selection by the board of peers and successful completion of all areas of diving expertise, he is then awarded the designation of Master Diver. In the Navy awards and decorations manual, the Master diver pin is silver and the officer pin Gold. Our brass plaque represents both. Depicts a hard hat deep sea diving helmet flanked by two sea horses, with tridents sprouting at port and starboard from the top of the bonnet. Measures 6" in diameter and weighs 2.3 lbs. Makes a terrific gift for your a diver, and will enhance any room featuring nautical decor.

You don't see many of these. The following description is quoted from the 1937 Andrew J. Morse & Son catalog:
"OIL SEPARATOR. Used to prevent the oil from the cylinders entering the air hose. Invaluable for preserving the life of the hose, which is quickly destroyed by contact with oil."

A common task for divers is underwater welding, and this welding rod holder aided the operation. The bottom few inches are perforated with rows of holes to allow water to drain as the diver returns to the surface. One side has a brass bracket to attach the diver's belt. On the other side, a set-off vertical rod is attached at the bottom, possibly to provide a place to hang more equipment. Beautifully polished and ready for use or to display.

MERRITT, CHAPMAN & SCOTT AIR PUMP
mfg by SCHRADER
A fantastic piece of early diving equipment. A three- cylinder single-acting hand-operated air pump, largely used for salvage operations, and harbor and dock work. This one comes with two (2) huge flywheels, which for various reasons are often rrmoved from such pumps. Manufacturered by Schrader, as shown on the cover plate. A wonderful piece of history. In 1893, Merritt, Chapman, and Scott were three separate small salvage companies. Today the company is a gigantic combination of the small companies.
