	RARE US VINTAGE CIRCA 1890'S "CAPSTAN" This great item was used in olden days to wind the ANCHOR rope/chain when getting under way. Found in rusty condition, now after days of restoration, it's an excellent decor item! Stout poles were inserted in holes top side as shown. Burley seamen turning top part slowly would wind the anchor rope on the stationary white vertical striped base below. VERY RARELY FOUND FOR SALE!! 	Vintage WW2 U S NAVY 12" inside Shutter Signal Device with protective glass outside cover Unit was front part of the large WW 2 U S NAVY signal light. Most important part, the shutter mechanism, is usually removed first when scrapping ships! Seven (7) shutters locked in tandem, move inside the unit, protected by toughened glass (A-1 condition) from the outside elements. Has some rust and needs a bit of attention. Original old gray paint. Some people have installed this as a porthole style window, moving the lever allows one to see what's going on on other side, release the control and voila, it snaps shut! 	FABULOUS HATCH COVER COFFEE TABLE BASE READY TO GO Very stout - wood 23" x 2 1/4" thick artistically shaped base, completely wrapped with a 2 1/2" wide band of polished and lacquered brass all around, with a 2 1/2" thick wood cross bar going thru the center and on the other side fixed to the base with 2 wooden pegs. Length of cross bar 48". Brass post, measuring 2 5/8" x 5/8", were installed on the top of the supporting bases, which could fit in holes drilled in the bottom of the new top, if desired. (A pair of channel lock pliers will loosen and remove them if not needed.) The wood is lightly sandblasted and torch burned; stained slightly to give it this look you see.
