CHELSEA "MARINER"
LARGE 14" MANTLE CLOCK
The Mariner is an exact reproduction an of original yacht wheel clock first patented and produced by Chelsea in 1911. Special tooling was painstakingly created for the yacht wheel and metal base to ensure each element of the unique design was reproduced exactly like the original.
The metal base and case are forged from thick brass. The forged brass bezel opens with the original shield hinge and latch design. Polished and bronzed finishes are preserved with a clear lacquer coating. The clocks face is deeply etched brass, silvered, enameled and lacquered. Wood base and back are solid mahogany.
Inside, the precision wind-up mechanical timekeeping mechanism chimes the ships bells on the hour and half hour. A uniquely satisfying way to record the passage of time. This is no ordinary timekeeping movement. Designed over one hundred years ago, the Chelsea movement has achieved a reputation for accuracy and reliability of a fine Swiss watch.
These Timekeepers of the Sea evoke the romance of the sea. They will be the focal point of any room to be enjoyed for generation after generation. Each timepiece is engraved with registered limited edition numbers.
