VINTAGE BRASS U S COAST GUARD CLEAR LENS NAVIGATION LIGHT-MARKED "A", "U.S.G.C."
The clear Fresnel lens is in very good
condition, and has some small chips from
extended use, which do not detract from its
overall appearance.
The body is solid brass and is marked with the makers name: "LOVELL,ARLINGTON. N.J."
The previous owner enjoyed the light for
many decades, and had the light wired for
in-house use. It's ready to plug in
and use.
All the brass hardware is in excellent condition. The vertical brass rods, nuts, cap nuts, and the 4 tie down dogs were previously replaced and are still like new. This great 48 pound brass beauty is 21" high- 24 1/2" to the top of its bird spike. |

20" CIRCA 1920's VINTAGE- DOUBLE HOOD ORIGINAL U.K MADE BUOY LIGHT, PROFESSIONALLY POLISHED AND LACQUEREDVintage buoy light 20" tall, with a double hood. Fresnel lens is in excellent condition. Professionally polished and lacquered. Why the double hoods on the lights? We were told by an expert, regular buoy lights like item #1035 were not very effective. Due to seabirds constantly resting on the lights, despite the spike on top, would defecate and cover the lens with their excrements and eventually render the navigation light source useless. Hence the double hoods! VERY RARE!! |

34" CIRCA 1920's VINTAGE LARGE ORIGINAL BRASS U.K BUOY LIGHT STILL WITH ORIGINAL PAINT & ORIGINAL GAS LIGHTING CONTROLIn near original condition. Weighs an incredible 145 lbs. Stands 36" tall. Still has the original Fresnel lens. Made in England. Lights like this kept ships from running aground. In WW II, the Germans frequently shot out these life saving beacons, hoping to cripple Allied ships hauling supplies to and from Britain. Good- looking if left in its present painted state, but can be stripped and polished. Numbers on the lights vary. |

20" CIRCA 1920's VINTAGE LARGE ORIGINAL BRASS U.K BUOY LIGHT STILL WITH ORIGINAL PAINT & ORIGINAL GAS LIGHTING CONTROLThis vintage brass buoy light is 21.25" high, 12.5" wide at its base. Weighs 37 pounds. The brass I.D. tag reads: "Type LB 87-150. Serial No: SW0584." The Fresnel lens is in good condition, with some chips in the glass but no breaks. Inside the Fresnel lens a yellow caution light is suspended from clips. The top of the brass body is painted red with gold letters: I.D.: SW 594. This beauty burned acetylene gas in its active buoy light days between WW I and WW II. |
