	VINTAGE BRITISH SKYLIGHT BINNACLE Great vintage 6 sided Sky light Binnacle hood on a 7 1/2 " wide brass compass housing, mounted on great wooden base. The heavy 6" brass gimbaled compass retains all original fluid, no bubbles, and has the following markings: Patt.0183, No.24587B/57. Face marked with the traditional British Arrow. 	USN STANDARD BINNACLE NO. 2 The complete binnacle includes the compass chamber, the magnate chamber, the legs, the hood, the central tube for heeling magnet, magnet trays,i ncluding soft iron spheres, correction magnets, etc. The hood has a 7" glass window in front, and a 4" door in opposite side. 	FRENCH STICK BINNACLE A RARE French Stick Binnacle, mounted on a 14" square base. A 7" square of wood supports the compass bowl, compass, hood, and binnacle arms and balls. The tg on the base reads "Charles Bianchetti and Cie, Rue F & R Guidicelli, Marseille." The vintage polished hood has a 6.75" viewing area to read the compass directions. 	UNIQUE WW II LIBERTY SHIP CURB-SIDE BINNACLE MAILBOX ONE OF A KIND! The unit is an actual WW II LIBERTY SHIP BINNACLE made into a curb-side MAIL BOX. It's complete with the brass arms holding the compensating spheres. A brass MAIL slot was very cleverly braised/soldered in the front section of the compass housing ring below the hood. The original binnacle light has been securely fastened to the top of the hood and can be lit if you desire (wiring leads from the bottom of the unit). The inside of the unit is a very spacious 12" i.d x 29 " high, allowing for large amounts of mail, including magazines and newspapers. The inside mail cylinder is lined with curved galvenized sheeting for security. You retrieve your mail through a large curved door, hinged with stout brass hinges, and fitted with a security lock (comes with 2 keys). All parts are brass except the black painted iron spheres. The bottom as shown is heavy brass with large bolts. An electrical receptical unit is mounted on the left side, which can be removed if not needed. 	LARGE TELL TALE UPSIDE DOWN COMPASS Very large tell tale upside down compass. Very desirable old timer, complete with mounting brackets, previously polished & lacquered. Compass size is 10.5" x 4.5" deep. Most of the original fluid is still there except for a bubble, which is normal for a compass of this age. The compass gimball ring measures 13" across. 	USN WW II 1943 PELORUS USN "Lionel" WW II Pelorus. Stands 53" x 13" and features an illuminated card, brass side door (for changing light bulb), and brass switch and dimmer control housings. The protective brass dome is still covered in navy grey paint, while the metal of rest of the "y" stand and bowl have been previously stripped and polished. The pelorus dial of clear 9" glass, mounted in the pelorus bowl, is graduated in 0-360 degrees to conform to the compass card. The dial is so fitted that it can be revolved and clamped in position, so the reading corresponds to the ship's compass heading. This unit is provided with an Alidade, mounting two vanes for taking bow and beam bearings. It was furnished to battleships, cruisers, gun boats, and destroyers. 	SESTREL UP-SIDE DOWN TELL TALE COMPASS Sestrel Up-Side Down Tell Tale Compass with mirror housing. From middle of last century, probably used by the Captain to monitor the course set for the Helmsman. A very rare item today and very collectible. Marked on brass polished housing is a tag reading: SESTREL, HENRY BROOKE & SON, STATIONWORKS BARKING, ESSEX, TYPE 2 No. 90327. A 5.5" gimballed brass compass is housed in this unit, but is not a tell tale original upside down compass. From bottom of compass to top of the tell tale housing is approximately 14". Width inside is 6". Comes complete with adjustable mirror as shown in the photos. With an original tell tale compass price would be $ 1900.00 plus. 	1941 "LIONEL" LIFEBOAT BINNACLE 1941 USN WW II "Lionel" life boat binnacle, which still has the original black paint (to keep down reflection) over the brass body. During WW II, the Lionel Co. stopped making toy trains, joined the war effort, and made a number of awesome instruments for the U. S. Government. This is one of those beauties. Stands about 12 inches high x about 9 inches wide x 8 inches deep. It retains intact the unique kerosene lighting system with oil font and burner. A polished light reflector for compass illumination is attached to the access door. In addition to the kerosene light, a screw cap electrical provision was added at the side.
